Making Plans
“We all tell them that we are spending the night at someone elses house” Suggested Jen. “Ok ” the rest say in unison.
“Ok so were going to the water tower tonight, what else are we going to do?” Asked Andrew.
“Maybe we can watch the middle school kids play softball, and we can heckle thier game, you know for laughs” Suggested Jamie.
The four of us were still walking home from school. By now we have walked two miles and have one more to go. Other than our sleep over at the water tower we had no idea what we were going to do.
The endless days of summer were at out doorstep and we had no idea where it would take us. We would probably end up at the creek. Or cow tipping. Or fishing down by the river.
The world seemed like it belonged to us for the summer. We would make it our own. With the imagination of our eight year old minds. We could go anywhere. That is the joys of childhood. We could live our lives with such a carefree innocence. The next three months would be endless days of summer fun.
