The Free Spirit
The Note reads like this,
Evelyn-
I am leaving this apartment. I will not be back tomorrow, or ever. I am enclosing 500.00 for rent. I hope it is enough. I will not send anymore because I am leaving. This will be my last rent payment at this apartment.
I regret to tell you this, but I will not tell you where I am going. But know this,I will not come back. I am leaving Ohio. I must do this, make a bold move and get out of here. This boring rural life is no match for me. I am a free spirit. Everything in the hallway can be yours. I took only what I wanted.
There is no use telling my work or anyone else. I will not disclose to anyone where I am going.

The note is complete. She beings to load her car. Pretty soon, her lil Nissan will be headed due west. And on the path to her last chance. Once the luggage is secure the trunk is shut. She gets in the drivers seat, and turns on the ignition. The car’s motor obediently responds. And she leaves her place, and her life as she knows it.
