I thought it was a nice job of constructing a small moment with a fair amount of detail, sort of just pushing the boundary of the challenge to give more of a story, more background, more effect, while still following the spirit of the challenge at least.
descriptive of a tornado.. makes me wonder have u seen them 1st hand? or researched it.. I live in Nj born in Philly, thank God never saw a Tornado or other natural diaster. great ficlet, intense. I always enjoy your stories, you have a unique.. yes unique perspective on things, never dull.
Never seen an actual tornado, yet, thank goodness. (With that statement, I hurriedly knock on wood. ;) ) This 1st season of the year has been very active and doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. . Thanks for the great comments on a Ficlet I was sort of ho- hum about after all the backspacing I had to do to bring within the 1024 llimits. The intensity of a Tornadic/ Electrical storm really deserved a sequel but I couldn’t bring myself to spread it out during a challenge. ;D
I’ve always wondered about what makes a person watch a tornado or similar disaster at the risk of their own life. And always feared that I’d end up caught in the middle of one of those things. I liked the two types of people and how the narrator wears both hats during the story.
