Airborne- pt. 4 (First Flight)

I checked that everything was in order. Plenty of gas, engines working, and I was good to go. I taxied onto the runway, only now realizing how short it was. Ten miles always seemed so long- but as I took off, it was surprisingly short.
“Command, this is Mobius One. I’m airborne. What do you want me to do?”
I smiled as the familiar voice of the recruiting officer crackled onto the radio.
“Mobius One, this Marshall West. We’re going to give you coordinates and instructions. Here’s the first bunch.”
FLY TO COORDINATES (54,43) flashed onscreen.
“Ok, command. Roger that. Heading to your coordinates.”
I turned to the east and was met with the sight of the wide open air. Layers upon layers of white clouds stacked up to the heavens greeted me.
When I got to the coordinates, the voice again greeted me- now clear and precise.
“Ok, Mobius One… Let’s see how much you’ve been paying attention. Take a sharp turn to your three o’ clock and then bank left.”
