I can definitely relate, trios are great groupings of friends, so long as one friend doesn’t get jealous that the other two are bonding together more closely. (One little thing. I think you meant that you’ve always been a part of a trio, not apart, which would mean the opposite of what you intended.)
Great story. I am 1/3 of a trio myself. ;D Though we don’t gather at sleepovers or talk on the phone like we once did muffled years ago ;); should one or the other need us, we would be there for each other in a heart’s beat. The only difference is that our trio never changed. Others attached themselves like spikes of a star, but the triangle stayed intact. So, here’s to a Triad of Friends. I feel like I should send out a couple of “thinking of you” cards. :D
Nice stream-of-consciousness sort of discussion of what you’ve noticed about the friend thing. I’ve been in a trio, and that was pretty cool. Still, my favorite grouping was a quartet.
