I thought about learning Spanish, once, then remembered I’m American. And Lazy. Benny is just his nickname, his last name is Benito. And for the sentence suggestion, it isn’t actually her house…
My suggestion was more about getting the majority of her words out before saying she was speaking Spanish. Saying “Benny” in Spanish would probably just be “Benny.” So you’re line: “Benny,â? she said in Spanish, is somewhat odd on its own. Does that make sense?
