I grinned at her shocked expression, “I looked it up.”
She shook her head slightly and rested back against the seat. Five minutes later I pulled over to the side of the road and waited with her, watching the sun go down in silence.
If I hadn’t discovered my natural skill in all things physical (particularly football and soccer) I would like to imagine that I would have been artsy, a painter or something. I thought about this as I watched he delicate display of oranges and pinks spreading across the sky and slowly fading into night.
Finally, as the show faded away, I turned towards Ceirra, “I love sunsets.”
She nodded quietly. I got out of the car and jogged around it, opening her door for her. She got out tentatively and I grabbed a picnic basket from the back, leading her up the hill. As we reached the top, Ceirra stopped, “Jesse, where are we?”
I turned to face her, “A cemetery, actually.”
She stared at me curiously, “Interesting place for a date.”
“Great place for a picnic too… albeit a late one.”
