I am Cooper
I sighed, musing to myself about how emotional girls could be, “I’m not trying to destroy your life.”
“Sure you aren’t,” her voice was bitter.
“I’m not.”
“Right. You’re just after sex. Particular my sex, to the point that you’re willing to destroy my life to get it,” her tone was biting.
I frowned, “Ok, that’s one way to look at it. Not really true though.”
“Then what the hell do you want, Cooper? Because I don’t understand you at all.” Oh god, she was crying.
“Because…” I began slowly, “When you’re interested in Jesse I go so green it’s ridiculous. When I kiss you, it feels like I might be able to make it out of high school alive. And when I sleep with you, it’s like the world finally rights itself.”
“Oh, fine words, Cooper. But if all that crap you just spun at me were true, then you wouldn’t have done everything you’ve done to me. You’d be a hell of better person than you are. So stop lying to me Cooper. Leave me alone,” she was furious and crying all at the same time. I did feel guilty. I did.
