Johnny is tethered to a post, out in the middle of the field. He tries to struggle free, but a shadowy form in front of him says “Your mother is coming, and she’s hungry. Don’t worry Johnny, it won’t hurt a bit”

Johnny wakes up, screaming. His father rushes into the room, giving him a glass of cool milk. He tries to tell him his dream, but his father shushes him, and rocks him to sleep.

Johnny writhes against the cord around his neck. He struggles, crying to his father for help, but he just shushes him, saying “Your mother will be here soon.”

Johnny is in his own bed, drenched with sweat and screaming again. His father, sitting beside his bed, shushes him, saying “Your mother will be here soon. Don’t worry.”

Johnny struggles harder this time, the ropes cutting into his flesh. “Your mother is here now” says his father. The dark shape of his mother rushes across the field. He begins to plead for help, until she gets closer. He sees her bloodshot eyes and screams.

The next day, Johnny isn’t at school.
