Just Leave
‘Goddamnit! Listen to me!’ she screamed, throwing her fists violently at him.
‘I am listening!’ he hissed violently.
‘But you aren’t hearing me!’ she cried, stepping towards him. He recoiled, his face curling into a mask of anger and hurt. But it wasn’t directed at her. He was angry at the world. Why him? Why did it have to be him?
‘Just go!’ he whispered, his voice echoing in the empty room, a harsh, cold thing.
‘No,’
He looked up at her. Her blonde hair was stringy, where her fists had pulled violently at it, her face streaked with shiny paths were her tears had been.
‘What?’
‘No,’
‘Please,’ he begged, ‘Please just…leave,’
‘I can’t,’
He stared at her. Her beautiful face was pale, her jaw set with a determination he’d never seen before.
‘Because I love you,’
It was then that the first tear fell. Since all of this began, since he got his first test results back. It took those words for the tears to fall.
She stepped forward again, pulling him into a hug.
‘I love you, and I’m never leaving,’
