Familiar

Just as Chris began to try and tidy up, a seemingly gigantic guy entered. “Hey, Chris, man, clear out. I got a chick coming-Hey, wait, you’ve already got someone. Guess we can go over to her room, then,” he said, finally noticing Rachel.

“No, don’t worry about it, Tyler. It’s not like that,” Chris said, trying to clear everything up.”We’ll leave in a sec.”

“Who are you, anyway?” Tyler said, looking over at Rachel. “You look kinda familiar. Did I go out with you before?”

“No…I don’t think I know you,” she said, hoping he wouldn’t remember. Because he did look familiar. He was one of Mike’s friends. He’d graduated last year. And he was the one who threw the party where it happened. When everything fell apart for good.

“You sure? I swear I know you from somewhere.”

“No, I promise I don’t know you. Come on, Chris. I need coffee, now ” she said, leaving the room quickly.

She wasn’t sure she could live with him. Not after everything he’d seen. It was only a matter of time before he remembered.
