Ficlets

Ficlets of the Future

The teacher told the students, “Open your Ficlets to page three thousand and six, please.”
The students did as they were told.
Ficlets had become the source of all things in the future, after World War III ended, and all copies of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and all other documents were destroyed.
Ficlets became the means by which all information was sent out to those still living in the years after the Apocalypse.
Ficlets, both fact based and fiction became the only living history passed down to future generations. Stories told and retold first by word of mouth, then written on the computers that survived the attacks. Finaly the large tome called Ficlets was issued to all schools and placed in new hotel night stands. On doorsteps everywhere Ficlets appeared yearly.
People far and wide praised the authors of Ficlets and their descendents for eons and eons.
One original member Melia, was even elected President of the USA , the first female to do so. She thanked Ficlets for her education.
