I gotta go, meeting a girl in The Diner in a bit.” Stu walked and talked with the swagger of a guy who knew how good he was, and he knew you knew it.

“Oh yeah, which one you seeing today.” Stu was a notorious for having several girls on the go.

“Rachel, I’ve been with her for a year today, almost forgot about it, haven’t got her a present though.”

“You didn’t buy her anything!” Even for Stu, this was a new low, Jamie thought, he might cheat on girls but he treated them right.

“No, any ideas?”

“Actually yeah, my sister asked me to take this ring back to the shop for her, but if you’ve got $20 it’s yours.”

“Lets see it?” Stu sounded excited about the prospect of an easy way out.

“See, looks pretty expensive, tell her it’s your great-aunts or something like that, chicks dig that kind of thing.”

“Thanks man, I’m gonna make an excuse and leave early, try and meet up with Hazel, this should make that easier.”
