Midnight Stargazing
Late at night I walk to the beach.. It’s dark mostly with the exception of the light, coming from the beachfront houses. I always wanted to know what the beach looked like, with the absence of the sun.
As I come closer to the beach, and finally take my first few steps on the beach, I am amazed. The first thing I notice is the cool air that greets me. Matched by the cool sand that greets my toes.
I can’t see the ocean very well due to the darkness and the angle of the moon. For some reason, it is nowhere to be found. But I do see the stars. The stars are just breathtaking at the beach. They seem to appear brigther against the darkness of the ocean. I am reminded instantly of the words ” The sky resmbles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it” The wise words from Brandon Boyd.
In the mood for some late night star gazing, I plunk myself down on the cool sand and rest my body against my elbows. The cool summer night air is simply intoxicating. Coupled by the sound of the surf.
