What the war brought : Chapter 2
The tunnel shook as missiles bombarded the street above. It became silent and the sense of being alone became great.
“Why didn’t they kill us?” said Emma.
“Let’s go look around.” said Drake.
The two climbed out of the manhole to find a misty 42nd street that was thriving with life minutes before was now a ghost of a city sreet.
“Why isn’t it all destroied?” Emma asked nervously.
“Not sure, only where the missiles hit are damaged.” replied Drake.
The two walked stepping over bodies.
“It doesn’t even look like there was a blast.” said Drake.
“What’s that mean?” Emma asked.
“Look it’s a missile shell.” Cried Drake.
“What is that smoke coming out of it.” asked Emma.
“No clue.” said Drake nervously.
They heard a noise and turned around. They heard a faint voice coming from somewhere behind them in the ghost of the street.
“What was that?” said Emma starting to panic.
Suddenly a person jumped from a storefront.
“Kill me, just fucking kill me hurry!” screamed the person.
She fell to the floor.
