To Run or Not To Run

“No thank you,” Cora smiled nervously.
Run, Jake had said. He’d never noticed her before.
“Please, Cora, let me drive you home,” said the hulking man. He smelt of too much Drakkarr.
“I don’t think so,” she turned to walk away, but one of his massive meat-hooks took her by the shoulder and pulled her close into his belly.
“I insist. ” he smiled with two perfect rows of teeth, his eyes had a troublesome blue glint. “it’s the least I can do, you were so nice to me on the last flight from L.A.”
“It’s my job!” Cora tried to gently move his massive hand off of her, “Always glad to see a happy passenger, but i’m really tired. Now, please, LET GO !”
“Is there a problem here?” came another voice.
Cora’s chest released a heavy sigh, “Captain Corvez,” she offered a fake smile, “This gentlemen enjoyed his flight so much he insists on driving me home,”
“I thought that was my honor, Cora!”
“I hadn’t the heart to tell him,” she managed to pull away and get behind Corvez.
She saw hatred in the hulk’s eyes.
