A Deadly Date
The sun was bright, and the day seemed perfect for the occasion. David grasped Linda’s hand as they walked down the street. How could everything be so perfect and so wrong at the same time? For no specific reason, Linda knew today was not going to end the way it was planned. She felt the fear at the pit of her stomach, those butterflies that fluttered continuously. David, on the other hand, had not the slightest clue of Linda’s thoughts. His only thought was about how he scored a date with the the hottest girl in seventh grade. He wondered what his friends from the public school across the street would say to this accomplishment. He’d win this time. No more bragging about all the kissing and dates. It was his time to shine. Linda squeezed his hand tighter and pulled him faster up the street. She was determined to get somewhere.
“What’s the rush, babycakes?” he tried his best to sound cool.
“Just cummon,” Linda increased her pace by the minute.
David, hypnotized by her beauty, tagged along.
