Marie and Matthew’s friendship continued to grow. They hung out in groups with other friends on weekends and went bowling, went to church, and went to football games. They talked constantly on the phone and on IM. Everything was good until Marie’s junior year of high school. Matthew had met a girl named Rachel. Rachel ruined their friendship within the first 4 months of her dating Matthew. Matthew and Rachel had been together for 3 months when Matthew told Marie that they had gotten engaged. A month after that Matthew and Marie lost contact. During the next year she wrote him a couple of messages on myspace and got one response. Marie went through her senior year with no contact to with him til a few months before her graduation.
It had been over a year since Matthew and Marie had last spoken when one day they were both on AIM and Matthew had IMed her. Marie didn’t know what to think so she told him how she felt about what had happened. Matthew promised to never let his friendship with Marie end again.
