Remembering Why
Someday I’m gonna find it
Wish I knew what I was looking for
Inside the disarray (inside the disarray)
I woke up this morning
Don’t know where I’m going
But it’s alright
I wouldn’t have it any other way…
The final notes ended and I turned back to Drew, “Good song isn’t it?” He shrugged, making me sigh, “How about a verbal answer?”
He half-smiled for a split-second, “It was different.”
I’d take that. At least it wasn’t a straight no. I turned off the music and returned to the potatoes, finishing pealing them. “So,” he began slowly, making me tense up, “Your turn.”
I slowly put down the knife and turned back to him, “What do you want to know?”
“You can’t sleep,” he stated.
“I can,” I frowned, “Just not well.”
“And why is that?” he asked.
I returned with a different question of my own, “Why do you only care now?”
That stopped him, surprise coloring his tone, “What do you mean?”
“Why do you only care now? I mean, you’ve had, like, 3 months to ask me.”
He frowned in confusion.
