Moving Up to Nothing Better
I sat down in my newly aquired, yet filthy, cubical that Darcy had left me with. No amount of cleaning I thought to myself, could make this place even the least bit respectable. I stirred my coffee gently in it’s cheap container and watched as a smiley face began to emerge from the froth. Great, another thing to remind me that things were going all downhill.
“What’re you lookin’ at?” I asked my coffee, hoping somehow it would tell me the secret to happiness or something like that.
I watch too much television. I thought as I giggled quietly, Its corrupted my sense of reality.
“Giggling, are we?” A voice from behind me came out of the blue. It was the dirty old man that every called boss. I cringed.
“Umm.. No, sir. Certaintly not.” I replied as politely as possible. I had just gotten this job, so I had some major sucking up to do.
