Two Shakes Of A Lamb's Tail

As they exited the planetarium, Prandi pulled Jameson in for a kiss.

“Thank you for that, my sweet prince,” Prandi said. “That was the perfect ending to the perfect night.”

Jameson raised an eyebrow. “Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Prandi,” he said, glancing at his watch. “We still have eleven minutes to get you back to the dorm before curfew.”

His words slowly registered on their faces. Panic!

They scrambled across the parking lot, jammed helmets on and sped across town at the speed of Vespa.

“I’ve never been late before,” Prandi yelled into his ear, obviously worried. “Oh, I hope I don’t get expelled!”

“You won’t!” Jameson shouted, pushing his Vespa to the limit. “I’ll have you there in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.”

“What does that mean?” she asked. “Hey, you took a wrong turn. Chili’s is that way!”

“No time!”

They had seven minutes to reach the dorm when the siren chirped and they noticed the flashing red and blue lights.

“Don’t worry,” Jameson assured her, “I have a plan.”
