A Beggining and An End
I kissed his lips, holding it there for as long as I could. The bustle of the people traveled around us, but they really didn’t matter.
“Flight 296 now boarding.” came out loud and fuzzy on the intercom. I stared at the ceiling with a look as if “why now?”
“Thats your flight.” He said to me.
“Yeah.” My voice weak with emotion. I’m going to cry.
“Don’t worry, we’ll see each other again. Promise.” He brought a hand to my face and gently wiped away traitorous tears that had already fallen. I noticed that he never used the word “soon”. I knew when we saw each other again, if we saw each other again, it would most definitely not be soon. “Now you better get going before you miss your flight.”
“I could just tag along with you.” I countered with a meek smile. He gave a warm laugh.
“You know I would like that a lot, but it won’t work.” Yeah, yeah, I thought. Lets just elope. I laughed inwardly mainly because I wasn’t joking. I pressed my lips to his once again and held on very tightly before walking away.
