CHAPTER 1 - A LITTLE CRUSH

“Aargh!” Jane said through gritted teeth. “Why’d you have to throw it away?”

“Cause it’s icky,” Jane’s roommate for over 2 years now, Shane said. “Besides, why would you want it?”

“Cause Josh gave it to me!!” exclaimed the now red Jane.

“Gee,” Shane said sarcastically, “I wonder why he would give you a stinky old fish…”

“We were supposed to cook it but,” Jane stammered…

“You love him now so you want to treasure him and his stinky old fish?”

“Sorta..”

“Does he love you back?”

“No,” Jane said looking down. “He’s dating that Jessica girl.. I’ll always be ‘Jane, my bestfriend’ to him”

“Well… I’m sorry about the fish,” Shane said. “I kinda felt that way for someone a long time ago so I KINDA understand what you’re going through..”

“Thanks Shane.”

“For what?”

“For KINDA understanding..” Jane smirked.

“No problem, kiddo,” Shane replied smiling back. “I’ll always look out for you.”
