Park Avenue

Melanie pulls up to Avery’s place. She walks up to the doorman and he lets her in. She presses the button at the intercom and alerts him of her presence. She speaks into the brushed brass plate, that housed the speaker. “Av, its Mel, I am here.. would you like me to wait outside..buzz.. “Yeah I will be right down” buzz. Avery spoke in reply.

Melanie walks outside and lights up a cigarette outside his building. She observes the view of the other side of the street. She mentally laments how pretty this side of the city looks at night. The street lights casts gold shadows on the buildings.It looks so peaceful, from where she is standing.

Suddenly she feels a pair of warm hands on her shoulders. These same pair of hands pull her towards its owner. With a pivot they are face to face. Avery looks into Mel’s eyes and smiles. “Good to see you, You look great.” Said Avery. “So how awful was this Darren fellow?” He inquires further. “Painfully boring” She said flatly.
