Surprises
The door opened and in walked Mom, carrying two plastic bags filled with what looked like pop tarts and fruit.
“Hi honey, have you eaten supper?” She asked as she flipped through the mail.
“It’s nice of you to finally come home.” I said, ignoring her question.
She looked at me with a confused expression on her face. “What’s wrong with you today?”
I shrugged. “Just in a bad mood I guess.”
Mom frowned a little, “Why is that?”
“I dunno,” I said casually, “I mean, Boone wrecked my room, but he’s dog so who cares?”
She nodded as she continued flipping through a magazine.
“Hmm what else? Oh yeah, I got a letter from Dad.” I continued.
She dropped her magazine and stared at me, her eyes huge.
“Yeah, looks like ‘dead’ people can write letters huh?” I said with a little smirk on my face. Things were about to get interesting.
