Things Always Happen for a Reason, P.9
“I love you too!” He said, his breathing was unsteady, “never forget that!” His arms pulled me closer to his chest.
“How can I be sure?” I asked, pulling away to look into his face. Tears still spilled from my eyes, but I was to upset to care.
His face became horrified, and his arms tightened around me so tightly I could barely breathe. “Don’t you ever doubt the fact that I love you!” He said sternly, loosening his arms and tilting my head up to look at him. He bent his head down and kissed me softly.
We broke away for a second and he searched my face trying, I’m assuming, to see if doubt still remained. Whatever he found there made him happy because he smiled and kissed me again. This kiss was not as careful as usual, but it was still soft and sweet.
A noise outside made us jump, both our eyes searched the dark windows for someting that we couldn’t see. He looked at me a question in his eyes, I shook my head answering.
“I don’t see anyone. But that doesn’t mean anything.” I whispered cautiously.
