Not The Only One

Anna didn’t stop him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and let the comfort of his strong arms take over. Jack hardly noticed how bad the room looked as he was concentrated on Anna. He layed her down on the bed gently. Anna wiped her eyes and opened them trying to see clearly. She looked up at Jack who was standing over her, watching her. She could see the anger in his brow, and the sorrow and care in his eyes. They stood there staring at each other not saying a word, yet understanding everything. Finally Jack moved towards the phone. He pushed a button and held the phone to his ear.
“Yes hello? Can I get some extra pillows and sheets for room 115? Thank You.”
He hung up the phone.
“What are you doing?” Anna barely had the voice to talk.
“I told you I wasn’t leaving and I meant it.”
“Won’t your parents wonder where you are?”
Jack looked down and away from Anna. “You’re not the only one who ran away from home.”
