I love it.
It’s very bittersweet.
A big mix of emotions.

A little difficult to read, and I’m not sure if it’s the spacing or if the you over-reached a bit on the language (…ajar window.). But a heartfelt and tragic scene, not at all an uncommon move for the emotionally immature to do.
