Alive part 2
I could only stare up at him desperately, just trying to swallow the driest lump in the back of my throat.
My lip trembled and I reached up for his sleeve.
He responded by stepping back and said,” I hope we can still be really close friends.”
“That will never work,” I hissed, barely able to shove the syllables through my lips, but finished,”William.”
The innocence drained from his face, but guilt didn’t replace it. His mind seemed to be somewhere else.
“W-why?” I stumbled.
His eyes met mine and his lips began to move again,”Please don’t make this any harder Ava. I promise you will be okay. This is for my own good, and yours too. Try some new people, you ne-”
“You are the only one for me.” I cut him off.
He backed towards the window and skimmed his hand along the frame. His gaze lost my eyes so I continued my conversation with the floor.
“So what am I supposed to do now?” I pleaded.
He jumped out the window, but peeked his head back in,”I’m sorry Ava.”
With that, he ran beneath the trees to the pitch black.
