I love haiku, and it’s a shame that I can’t write any worth a darn. This one, however, is both noble and subdued. I, on the other hand, would have responded in her shoes with something much more tacky like “f—- off and die!”

Three short lines and yet so much unpacked there. Like Eckhouse, I also appreciate a good haiku. (Random sidebar: my friend had a professor who trained his mind to listen in haiku. He would go to malls and places and write down overheard conversations in haiku form. Now, that’s taking love of haiku a bit bar, I think.)
