Alive part 4

The silence stung, but I couldn’t shake it away.
What have life could have been? What was this word love? When people say,” I don’t love you anymore,” how does that make any sense at all? Love isn’t just something that stays for five years and fades away. It’s a passion, almost like an addiction for someone that would keep you by their side, no matter what… forever.
The doorbell pierced my eardrums, still unable to budge. It rang for the next ten minutes along with knocking until a higher authority barged in.
“This is the police, we have come to search the house. Neighbors have called in about hearing a large bang in your house and someone leaving through the window.”
I strained my neck to look up at them from the floor.
“There was no accident here. You can make your way out the door now” I begged.
Suprisingly, he obeyed with no question, and I plunged back into silence. The noise outside, too, soon began to fade, along with the flashing lights. And as my eyelids got heavier, there he was again.
