Lover from Afar

The first time I saw him was in the hallway. He had blond hair and greenish pale eyes. His short best friend, Troy, was bablling to him, and his head was bent down slightly to hear what Troy was saying. He looked up, and shot me a look dead in the eye. I held his gaze for a moment, and then walked into math class.

I saw him again on a feild trip to see a play on a book that I hadn’t read. All the girls in my class giggled and one asked a boy in his class what his name was. “Evan, Why?” the boy answered.

“Oh, no reason really. Lola here, well, she thinks he’s cute.” The girl said. Oh, jeez. She just threw me into all of this. I hit myself in the forehead. I smiled slyly at the boy and nodded my head. I was going get that girl later.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder. It was an old man with a dark beard. He said, “Oh, Evan there? That’s my son.”

“Wow, that is… that is pretty humiliating.” I said.
