Amethyst Frontiers Pt. 3
“All Stop!” ordered the captain.
The NavMan echoed an all stop. The Amethyst came to a halt.
All were silent on the bridge; only the hum of the ships instrumentation and spinning cooling fans could be heard. The bridge crew watched as their captain sat in her chair with dark eyes intently staring at the derelict portrait on the viewscreen. She took a deep breath, and let it out slowly,
“I need to know what’s out there,”
“I can tell you what’s not out there, Cap! There are no immediate contacts; not anymore!” Said Karapanov.
Frosbeld stood pointing at the view screen, “I would agree, but what the hell is that, then?”
“Our eyes can be fooled!” Locke said, nodding, “A hologram maybe?”
Karapanov double-checked the data from NSAT , “No, way. We would see residual neutrinoes, or at the very least a power-source. I see nothing.”
Lucy put in, “I think we’re all ignoring the most important data; the transmission,”
Comms crackled. It was engineering.
“Cap’n. Something is draining our power!”
Locke cursed!
