Missing Him
The music pulsed through the air, filling her with an energy that felt electric. She intertwined her fingers with his and let her body flow with the music.
He moved his hands down to her waist and kissed her shoulder. He laughed and melted into the crowd, probably wanting her to follow.
Her friend Claire shouted over the noise, “Who was that??”
She just shrugged, “I don’t know. I think he wanted me to follow him though.”
Claire scowled, “Girl, what’s wrong with you?”
She just looked at the floor, knowing no one would never understand.
“Fine, whatever,” and with that Claire disappeared into the crowd.
She felt a tear slide down her cheek. All she wanted was him, and he was the only thing she couldn’t have.
