Not Again
Anna crossed the room to where he was and put her hands on his. “Jack,” she whispered. He wouldn’t look at her and his lips drew tighter. Suddenly he put both his hands on her face and looked hard into her eyes.
“Do you get it now? That’s why I get so tempered about Lance! I will not let him hurt you Anna! I know what that’s like, and I will never let that happen again. So I’m not going to just leave you here all by yourself. I can’t just sit here and let that happen Anna I just can’t,” he was almost out of breath.
“I know Jack. I know,” was all Anna could whisper out. Anna pulled Jack in for a hug and they stood safely in each other’s arms until the door knocked. Jack went to open the door and he got the sheets and pillows from the employee.
“There’s only one bed…” Jack started, “would you like me to sleep on the floor?” Anna smiled at how serious he was as she took his pillow and placed it next to hers on the bed.
