Lucas, Edward, and I
“Wait!” I yelled as Lucas was rushing to get to class. “No time.” he whispered mysteriously. “I need to talk to you, you ALWAYS run away from me when I’m trying to tell you something very important. “Look!” His face was filled with inevitable anger as he stopped, hesitating in front of the stairs. “I really don’t want to talk to you right now. Just stop trying to fix everything! Okay! We are never, and I mean never going to be friends again! Understand! I gulped. I was terrified. I blushed as Edward looked my way and silently snickered. Edward was my closest friend , we have been friends since the first day of preschool. My only one as of today. As Lucas ran up the stairs unconscious of the staring people, Edward walked right up to me and gave me a huge hug. “I don’t understand Edward. Why won’t he just talk to me?” Edward gave me a quick smile and whispered in my ear. “Don’t worry” At that moment, something hit me. Not literally, emotionally. I realized Edward was not just a best friend to me, I was in love.
