Belated Quarter Life Crisis

There comes a time
When one becomes complacent
about life.

“What to do,
When all has been accomplished?”
Undergraduate and graduate school completed.
Good job.
Good family.

“Set more goals?”
“Do what exactly?”
I asked myself.

I find that lack of challenging work
And sitting in a cube
Has me just wanting to float on by,
Following the career current that will
Push me through life.

My thoughts wander to how,
I would like to quit my corporate job,
And become a writer,
But that’s not going to fly,
When you have bills to pay.

But I can always dream, right?
