Birthday Cake with Jesus and Elvis

An azure sea melded with the horizon. The never fading sunset washed the landscape with its golden hues. Puffy cumulous clouds wafted lazily about hither and yon. The gently washing waves whispered softly.

Seagulls dipped their feet in the glistening waters before returning to the woman sitting on the handmade quilt spread just beyond the reach of the sands. The soft green grass tickled her bare toes as she tossed a morsel from her picnic basket to the hovering birds.

Blooming mimosas danced in the breeze, as did her dark hair, when she turned to look over her shoulder, expecting guests any moment. Excitement spilled a melodious laugh from her lips.

Her brown eyes sparkled as two people in flowing robes emerged from behind the dunes. She waved as she rose from the blanket, her immaculate gown falling perfectly into place.

Embracing greetings exchanged, the three of them sat down upon the quilt. As they talked, the breeze grew still. The candles on the cake were lit. She made her wish and blew them out.
