“Kit! Wait!â€? Trey yelled, running after me. I didn’t slow my pace until he was blocking my way. “Listen for a second. Okay, I didn’t know Jack as going to do that.â€?

“Uh huh, but you knew you were setting me up.â€?

“Look, I like you, okay. Just Jack is well, Jack. I’m sorry, can we just start over?â€?

“Start over? We never started!â€? I walked around him and he sighed.

“Kit.â€? He turned to me but I was already farther down the sidewalk. “Ah, come on. I’m sorry, okay? I’ll make it up to you if you want.â€? But I kept walking home, ignoring the guy I actually trusted. I was completely right with the rose issue but I lost my head and now its time to get it back.

The next day, I decided to take the day off of work and walking through the park. I needed time to myself and the nature park in town was the best place to go.

Trey was there. I saw him and was about to escape through the roses when he called my name. Just hearing him say it made me smile but I pushed those feelings away quickly, hiding from him.
