At the end of the school year my mom and I had to deliver a computer that the multi-talented Mr. Fitzwater had built to Rohn and Allison.

It was a very rainy day and, when we pulled up in front of his house, Rohn emerged from within wearing a bright yellow poncho. I stayed in the car and looked out the open trunk of my mom’s blue Honda CR-V to see a smiling, waving, wet, and irresistably cute Rohn. I returned the smile and wave. My mom got back into the driver’s seat and we went home.

As soon as I walked in the door, my dad told me that Rohn had just called and handed me a notecard with his cell phone number on it. Hmm. I wondered why he would call so soon after I had just seen him.

I picked up the phone, a little nervous, and dialed the number. I began to get sick as it rang, thinking about what I would say to him. When he finally picked up he pretty much got straight to the point and asked me out to dinner. Of course I said yes. My first date…and with Rohn…Yes!
