The Perfect Moment
I noticed and heard what almost sounded like a muted crash of a small wave.
My happiness was soaking through me just as the salt water from the ocean drenched my skin.
I ran up to the lighter areas of sand where it was harder to run in. The sand was hotter up there and I regretted rushing up there due to the subtle pain on the soles of my feet.
I looked up as the sea breeze rustled through my hair and the sun began to set beyond the horizon.
He saw me and came up to meet me from the shoreline.
I wanted to take a mental picture of everything. The atmosphere was never this perfect…until now.
He was standing right beside me now as we both looked out at the ocean and a sail boat just catching the sunset as it was just about to duck below the surface of the immense Pacific Ocean.
I looked to my side and saw a pointed rock.
Careful not to leave footprints, I drew a medium sized heart in the cool wet sand.
Lastly, I walked away with him before I could see the symbol of the day disappear beneath the water.
