I agree with all of your choices, except for the ones I haven’t read, The Book Thief and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. I actually have The Book Thief lined up to read next. I can’t believe they still have that textbook in French. I had that book, too! :p (And yes, Edward can crush Romeo any day! :p)
I love the Freudian nature of Peter Pan, and how depending on what age you read it, Petergoes from being a great adventure hero to a great tragic hero.
Sir Barrie never told us, and even in Capt. Hook, by James Hart, we weren’t told (his father was called “Lord B”. His first name, however, is “James”, often abrieviated “Jas.”
What’s really interesting is that in stage and film productions of Peter Pan, Mr. Darling and Cap’n Hook ar often, if not always, portrayed by the same actor.
