Gorgeous imagery and very apropos, given the holiday.

As soon as you said “I took a beer from the fridge,” I laughed. Finishing the story, I guess it was wrong of me to laugh, but the first line was really setting up a beautiful scene, then, wham! Good stuff, and as Ana already mentioned, very fitting given the holiday.
Also, just because it’s kind of what I do, “it was a peaceful that night.”
