Can He Catch You?
Man lurks in parking lot.
Masks his nerves with yet another cigarette and waits to catch a few girls out on their own this summer night. His boys stand, ready, in the shadow cast by the too-bright street light.
White limo parked around the corner seems the only innocence around, though such a supposition couldn’t be farther from truth.
Dark sky looks as if it has just been painted a few shades darker. Seeming to notice, the men shift their weight uneasily in the heavy, humid air. Rain begins to fall, gingerly at first, coating the black asphalt with a slippery wetness.
Restaurant door opens.
Two walk out.
They giggle, speaking to each other in singsong voices, carrying on a conversation that draws eyes.
