Her Circumstances
She glanced down and clasped her hands in front of her, making her periwinkle sleeves flutter.
“I know I’ve made it hard for you. In an ideal world I’d be independent, self-actualizing and sane.Also, I wouldn’t be clingy, and I’d be able to deal with my own problems. Unfortunately for you, I’m human so I fall short of the ideal. I’m not perfect and neither are you. I’m just a screwed up girl who fell in love. I’m selfish, reckless, insecure, codependent and crazy. The fact that I’m flawed doesn’t change the fact that somehow I need you. Please believe me, I do need you and I do love you. I need your smile, your laugh, your arms and your rationality. I may never be your ideal girl, but I would try to make you happy. So, please don’t give up on us.”
She took a deep breath, looked up into his face and searched his mahogany eyes. His face gave nothing away and the moment seemed to linger between them forever. Her heart ached with uncertainty Finally, he took a breath and replied.
