Alive part 7

Briefly, my eyes whipped open.
My heart sank as I realized my longing for William’s presence. I slammed my eyelids shut, hoping to dream again.
Placed exactly where I left off, I was breathless. He wasn’t there to save me from my own uncertainty. The strive to snatch his attention was slowly fading until my hands slipped from my throat into the dying grass.
Why did he always leave me now? Why was I suddenly not good enough?
My tears seemed to dissolve my skin as my body was raw. I was, without a doubt, evaporating from existance.
My temples began to throb and the distress was but only growing. The pain in the back of my eyes made it almost impossible to glance at the clock. Hmm…. 11:12. Missed my wishing opportunity for the day by one minute.
Maybe this just wasn’t meant to be.
