100 Years of Awesome! announced the banner hanging from the ceiling of the School of Writing. An elderly gentleman slide his frail arthritic fingers over the recessed names on the granite Founder’s of Awesome wall.

“You remember them, Great Grandpa?” a small voice gently broke the silence.

“Each and every one of them.”

“Who’s that?” the girl pointed to name on wall.

A half hour went by as he described the writing accomplishments of each engraved name. He recalled each person that made him laugh; each person who made him cry; and each person who made ficleting the addiction that it was.

The girl sounded out the letters of the name engraved in a large font above the others. “tea… aaaccch… axe… oohhh…. fooour… sleventy sleven.” the letters stumbled off her tongue. “Who’s that, Great Grandpa?”

“That’s me, honey.” He turned his head to hide the tears in his eyes. “Let’s go get a cookie and some punch.”
