Change
“I was just by the lake and she came up and jumped on me. I had to wrestle to get her off and stop her before she did something she’d regret.â? Jack told Trey.
My teeth were clenched in a hard line as Trey turned to me. I could see Jack behind him, glaring at me but I wasn’t about to lie about cheating. Even if it is Jack.
This was the moment to decide. The time between what’s real and what’s fake. I knew the truth but was it the right way to go with Jack standing over me?
“Is that all true?â? Trey asked me.
“I … I have to go. Sorry.â? I ran down the path, heading for any place to hide.
This was definitely not how I wanted my summer to be. I didn’t want to live in fear of some guy and not spending time with my boyfriend. This needed to change.
Step 1: Forget about Jack. Pretend he doesn’t even exist anymore.
Step 2: Tell Trey all of the truth. Tell him everything Jack did.
Step 3: I don’t know quite yet. But I’m going to figure it out. Change is coming.
Hopefully.
