Prandi's Plan

Prandi had to ride her bicycle over to the Chili’s to reclaim her car, but she didn’t mind the exercise. Besides, she knew the ride would help clear her thoughts.

The truth was that she regretted hanging up on Jameson like that, without even a chance to explain himself.

“I should call him back,” she muttered to herself as she rode her bike into the parking lot. “I should apologize to him. Maybe I’ll even invite him out. We can go back to the planetarium today, if he says yes. There were some exhibits I wanted to see.”

By the time she reached her car, Prandi was cheered up again. Her life was in order once more, everything planned out and orderly as it should be.

Then she saw Becca and Jameson at the entrance to Chili’s, hugging. As if last night had never happened. As if Prandi didn’t exist.

Prandi’s cell phone rang. It was her mother. Prandi picked it up and for once didn’t let her mother speak first. She took a deep breath, swallowing her tears as she did so. “Mom, let’s go ahead and plan the wedding.”
