Let The Flames Begin

“Josh!” I wasn’t afraid to say his name out loud anymore or even confront him.
He turned quickly back around to face me, “Yeah?” he looked suprised that I was talking to him.
“Uhm,” I realized I didn’t have anything to say to him, “how have you been?”
He shrugged, “Good, I guess.”
This was strange. Last time, he wanted to talk and now he didn’t.
Realizing I may have made a mistake in coming after him, I turned around and sighed.
“Wait!” Josh said quickly before I could walk out of earshot.
I turned around slowly, “What?”
This whole charade was getting a little annoying.
“Let’s get together after you’re done. I’m done after this game anyway,” he suggested.
I thought about it before answering. I took a deep breath and exhaled sharply.
“Okay, meet me at the snack bar after your game,” I said and I turned and walked away.
I wasn’t looking to get back together with Josh. But still… had I possibly just arranged a date by accident?
I sighed… Let the flames begin…
